To mark World Down Syndrome Day 2026, Apollo Hospitals across India came together in a powerful show of solidarity by illuminating their facilities in yellow and blue—the colours of Down syndrome awareness. From Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in Delhi to Apollo centres in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, and beyond, this nationwide initiative created a striking visual message of inclusion, acceptance, and hope.
This gesture goes beyond symbolism. By lighting up so many landmarks, Apollo Hospitals helped amplify public awareness about Down syndrome, encouraging inclusion and the abilities of individuals with Down syndrome. Such visibility is invaluable to the Down Syndrome Federation of India (DSFI), as it strengthens outreach efforts, fosters community support, and brings the cause into the public eye in a meaningful way.
